ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth.. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.
ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone — not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.
ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful; do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.
ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes ..
ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we’re just not interested in public health care.
ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don’t be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair..
ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don’t be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won’t have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.
ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)
ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.
ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don’t care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (Lastly…..)
ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country’s history or heritage.. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!
I just think it’s about time common sense is allowed to flourish. Sensible people of the United States speak out because if you do not, who will? Our problem is every year we are less in number and every year the idiots come up with more and more poltically correct requirements to silence the sensible people! Since a few folks seem to be having a real hard time accepting the fact that their secrets are getting out to the world by way of the RSOL and hint that these truths are rumors and lies and such by former disgruntled employee’s and at least a few defenders have exhibited fits of stress we would like to encourage RSOL to take a new approach from the positive side of the issues.
We would like to see the Right Side of the Lake do an article and encourage local politicians and bureaucrats as well to enter an honesty, integrity and ethical political services race. This should be a real contest of integrity and not a fantasy of someones imagination like many efforts today. The RSOL could even chose an impartial group from its members to judge the contest! Since politicians are really not suppose to receive gifts or rewards maybe some of the RSOL members could get together and fund some amount of money to the charity of choice of the winner!
All we ask is for the RSOL to make the entry rules plain, simple and legible. Announce the contestants who apply daily on their RSOL website and disclose to the applicants that their entry does in fact open their lives up to scrutiny and bloggers will have the right to put the contestants “in the barrel.”
Before applying contestants should acquire a good dictionary and review the definition of the words honesty, integrity and ethical and realize this includes all phases of their life both personal and professional. After all these politicians-bureaucrats are politicians-bureaucrats 24/7/365 during their tenure. The winning contestant must be able to look the public straight in the face eye to eye and tell them the truth! They must never have been a party to accepting shady contributions or dealing with any special interest groups period! They should be willing to help citizens acquire public records requests legally and be an advocate for real government in the sunshine at all times! They must be capable of recognizing acts of corruption by fellow politicians and have the intestinal fortitude to report same and demand a legal resolution to all such matters And last but not least they must portray an image as a real public servant with the business of the people at heart!
The requirements to enter this race should not be a burden on those who wish to apply because they all have already signed loyalty oaths swearing to abide by these contest requirements! This should be a piece of cake!
We realize it might take some time to get an effort such as this in operation. Perhaps the first contest could be a quarterly one and then another contest for each upcoming quarter.
The positive results of a contest like this can be overwhelming! Just imagine in all walks of life today from sports and entertainment and others, the one thing everyone is always searching for is a hero! So let’s all join together and make this event a positive one so that fellow politicians will be encouraged to seek this recognition for honesty, integrity and ethics! Who knows perhaps some of the first winners will join together and start a real course called ethics in politics! I feel sure we will have a large class of applicants for the first contest! Contests always seem to bring out the best in most people! Just think how exciting and contagious one of this nature could be in a time when the public’s confidence in politicians is at an all time low! The winner will be our hero and will surely be able to use this acheivement to run for re-election! Just a though, what’s yours on this subject?

B ~ Is getting really upset about something! If he gets that upset about someone threatening to run for County Commission he’ll be in a straight jacket at Lifestream soon. I happen to know there is a little more to this story than he said she said! And I happen to know there is more than one recent victim. What the hell are you implying to anyone who wants to run for public office when you say “put your name out there and see what happens!” ??? that sounds like a possible threat of violence to me!
B, Let me tell you what the problem is here. When people like you attack this website and recently it was even hacked by pros that means only one thing to us, you are scared of the truth being exposed here! If it was not the truth people like you could care less!
The truth hurts especially when it can put you in the federal pen for a long time! Lake County has been an ongoing culture of corruption for years. The old rule of thumb was if they don’t steal more than 10% its not worth bringing it up. Just like a tumbling tumbleweed it gets larger and larger and attracts more and more schemes stealing more and more millions of our tax dollars! Now it has got out of proportion! The perpetrators are all well known and thousands of people know what is missing and where it’s going. Believe it or not there is even some honest law enforcement who knows what’s going on and will eventually bring it to an end with handcuffs! Since you get so upset about all this it is obvious you are scared of going to prison for many years. Your ranting sounds like all the stress of this corruption and knowing that everyone knows about it is really getting to you. You might want to think about getting some help from Lifestream and contacting the Jacksonville FBI when you get yourself back together. Someone just put their email address to contact for public corruption tips on this site a few days ago! Just make sure your accomplice’s don’t find out they get nasty when they find out someone is ratting them out. Good Luck and let us know if we can help.

Like a lot of people I know I take spells reading the comments on this blog based on the stories you email out, how interested I am in the subject and how much spare time I have available. For a long time I have seen a lot of remarks about the county. All I do is work and pay taxes and I don’t work for the county so I don’t know what is true and what is not.
One of the guys who works with me told us all an interesting story that is hard to believe. His wife worked for the county board for quite some time and all of a sudden her bosses started really banging on her. He said she reported the abuse to the higher ups and they laughed at her. Then he got ticked off and went to talk to someone over there. That made things worse and even the boards lawyer called her and verbally attacked her. I know she had been ill for a while. Think this would make anyone ill. Now she has left there, lost her retirement benefits and insurance and all. This don’t sound right to me I was wondering if any of these other people have ever been abused like this over there? This is suppose to be a professional government operation I thought. Now this has got me thinking about running for the board this coming year.

Did anyone ever look at the number of blogs on RSOL? Most of the commentaries have three or four comments, some have up to 20 or so. Well go look at Outlawing Facebook dealing with Lady Lake, ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY FOUR, is that alot or what. Shows the Town Manager and the rest of the idiots have problems. Check it out, if LCSO is having problems let’s hear from more than one or two. Let’s seeif you has the worst leadership and top brass. The truth is Lake County’s culture of corruption created LASER to support Michael Tart when the real estate boom was busting! Hey man it was a rotten job but somebody had to do it! You can check the IRS 990′s, you can check the Florida Corporate filings and sine LASER is proped up with our tax dollars you can make public records requests of them! However, I’m sure they would be Lake County trained and not respond with anything that would incriminate them! Sandy Minkoff would probably filter it through his office! Tart has been laying low sich he got that last welfare check from we the taxpayers! That’s what all these people do when the truth gets on the street about their deals! I have read several blogs in reference to Michael Tart and Peyton Grinnell starting the non-profit organization LASER. If someone can provide the information on where to locate these facts I would appreciate the help. Don’t get me wrong by asking for the information, I do not support either of them. I have tried to locate records and can’t find the paperwork. All the records I found state the county commission started the program in 2005 or around that time. I don’t know Mr. Tart but, Mr. Grinnell is not the only person involved. There are many people who have been helped by LASER and many that have abused the resources of the organization. I would like information to know more about the group due to the fact I possibly have information of wrong doing by other high ranked officals in the area but, would like to be more informed before I comment.

Did anyone see the channel 9 story tonight, October 4th, on term limits. Seems Osceola County has a group of concerned citizens who are going to try and get term limits put on the ballot. If passed, their elected officials would only be allowed to serve two terms.
During the story, Lake county was mentioned as one of the two counties, in Central Florida, which does not have term limits. Why? Are elected officicals really concerned about being “public servants” or are they more concered about a paycheck or the “prestige/power”. It should never be about either. Face it, we have all seen officials who are more concerned with “their status” as an official than doing what is right.
I once had it explained to me, as well as I have seen, that after a period of time, most elected officials loose their focus and productivity as helping those who elected them. They begin to turn their interest to self driven personal needs. They simply have peeked out. Look at any good elected official over time. Once they reach their peak, then there wasn’t really much left for them to do. At this point it seems they often become self centered and not concerned about those who elected them. Often their concerns become for those who support them (staff, close friends, etc.).
With term limits, new people would come in with fresh ideas. A new perspective would be seen with the current situation, whatever it may be. Officials would not become stale. Officials would not see their position as just a paycheck. They would, hopefully, have more of a drive to get projects completed, for the good of the people, knowing they were only in office for a set time. In other words they would be responsible to those who elected them.
Now I realize this generalization of term limits may hamper some individuals. Some folks may be effective for many terms. However, if it was limited, say to two terms, then it would keep those “self centered folks” from creating more wrongs than rights. Hopefully keeping them accountable to those who elected them.
Why don’t the Citizens of Lake County try a similar approach. Why not limit ALL elected county officials (Constitutional Officers) to only two term limits. Maybe after staying out one term they could be eligible to run again. At least some of these folks wont be concerned about using their positioin for just a job, but really make an impact to help the county/voters.
Government has become so polluted that no one is trusting those who have been elected. This is true from the federal level all the way to the local level. Many headlines talk about the public not trusting government. Maybe with term limits that trust could be restored. If those elected officials knew they only had a set time frame to get their goals, to help the citizens, accomplished, maybe they would be more driven to do so instead of just riding the “gravy train” of tax payers and taking care of their friends.
Just my two cents, but think about it!

They are allowing the liberal socialist media to “vett” their candidates by making, accepting and repeating derogatory remarks about any Republican candidate who might stand a chance to save this country! Most recently the liberal media disclosed Governor Rick Perry had racist material in the bathroom of his hunting camp! Governor! It sounds to me like you should choose your friends more wisely! Your enemies don’t know what is in your bathroom!
Just like all of us humans not one of these people is perfect! Everyone wants to make this “race about race” and some would even like to make it sexist regarding issues concerning Michele Bachman and Sarah Palin!
This race is about the survival of the United States of American against socialist-communistist influence within the Obama administration! I will choose the candidate who has the intestinal fortitude of the likes of Harry Truman. (of the pre-socialist democrat party takeover) the one who has the guts to stand up for American and tell all the politically correct people of the USA and the world to go straight to hell! We have work to do, we have a county to save and we don’t give a damn whose feelings get hurt in the process! That’s my man or woman and as long as they meet the natural born citizen requirements I don’t care if they are green and come from Mars.
If we the people and voters don’t really elect the president of the United States why is it they spend all this time and money on ads and such to con us into voting for them? I guess that’s why people like Obama don’t care what we think about anything. All he has to do in control the process and he stays in power! Because if I understand it right when they win the popular vote then all those delegates from that state are supposed to vote for them in December no matter what! That’s why they all spend so much time and money in certain states and not all of them! They only need 270 votes to win. That will be changing! Right now Florida has 25 in congress plus the two senators. We will be adding more congressmen thainsk to the 2010 “senseless!”

In all practicability due to the mandate of the Electoral College it is virtually impossible to elect anyone not aligned with one of the two major parties! Yet- in 2011 we have Donald Trump threatening to run as an independent!
How the Electoral College Elects the President of the United States~ Only 270 Votes required!
It is not we the people who elect the president but “they the powerful!”
The Electoral College system was established in Article II of the Constitution and amended by the 12th Amendment in 1804.
When you vote for a presidential candidate you are really voting to instruct the electors from your state to cast their votes for the same candidate. For example, if you vote for the Republican candidate, you are really voting for an elector who will be “pledged” to vote for the Republican candidate. The candidate who wins the popular vote in a state wins all the pledged votes of the state’s electors.
Each state gets a number of electors equal to its number of members in the U.S. House of Representatives plus one for each of its two U.S. Senators. The District of Columbia gets three electors. While state laws determine how electors are chosen, they are generally selected by the political party committees within the states.
Each elector gets one vote. Thus, a state with eight electors would cast eight votes. There are currently 538 electors and the votes of a majority of them — 270 votes — are required to be elected. Since Electoral College representation is based on congressional representation, states with larger populations get more Electoral College votes.
Should none of the candidates win 270 electoral votes, the 12th Amendment kicks in and the election is decided by the House of Representatives. The combined representatives of each state get one vote and a simple majority of states is required to win. This has only happened twice. Presidents Thomas Jefferson in 1801 and John Quincy Adams in 1825 were elected by the House of Representatives.
While the state electors are “pledged” to vote for the candidate of the party that chose them, nothing in the Constitution requires them to do so. In rare instances, an elector will defect and not vote for his or her party’s candidate. Such “faithless” votes rarely change the outcome of the election and laws of some states prohibit electors from casting them.
NOW THAT YOU KNOW YOU DON’T REALLY ELECT THE PRESIDENT HOW DOES THIS WORK AGAINST THE AT LARGE WILL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE?
Obviously in order to make this system work for those who control the system all they have to do is invade the competition and offer methods of divide and conquer techniques to achieve their goals! Plain and simple- do everything in their power to prevent a united organized effort opposed to their leanings to survive! This method has worked both ways! Remember it worked for George W. Bush! It worked for Bill Clinton against George “HW” Bush mostly because of his open arguments in favor of “the New World Order!” Like Bush Clinton was also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations but, he was smart enough to keep his mouth shut! Then we have the Ross Perot factor! Did Ross Perot Elect Bill Clinton? This is a topic that surfaces every now and then, and I don’t think there’s a clear answer. What I do think is that too many pundits dismiss the Perot Effect on the 1992 election due to the results, Which featured Bill Clinton beating George H.W. Bush handily against the backdrop of a bad economy. However, if Ross Perot had not been in the race to begin with it might have had a different result because as we can see- due to his lack of independent delegates he had no chance to win to begin with! His only possible achievement could be to throw the race by taking votes away from the candidate the voters though he was most closely aligned with which was George “HW” Bush!
Now we should be asking ourselves is Donald Trump being the 2011 Ross Perot of 1992? He ran his mouth and called Obama out on the birther issue! Obama released an obviously forged birth certificate! What was the purpose of this? To get that issue out of the way well before the 2012 election process got underway! Once Trump managed this he backed off and started talking running as an independent! Don’t tell me a man of his stature and wealth don’t know the president is elected by at least 270 people in the Electoral College! If he doesn’t know that he probably doesn’t know that the Federal Reserve is a private corporation either! Alan Grayson sure didn’t know it!
One needs not to be of high IQ to see that even though many on the left are not happy with Obama and some would like to see Hillary or someone else challenge him that will not happen! At least not in a real organized fashion! Remember “UNITED WE STAND – DIVIDED WE FALL!”

The one thing that most true conservatives agree on is the future of The United States as we have known it will be decided for the last time in the year 2012! There is no chance in hell of bringing it back from socialism-communism-muslin intervention post 2012!
What’s the game here? The Republican’s are the only ones who have a chance to save the USA! It will take a landslide of Republicans to do this! In 2010 the tea party people lauded everyone to vote out the congress! The people listen and voted a majority rule in congress! The problem was the tea party forgot to tell everyone to vote out the senate as well and therein we failed!

He was in and out in less than an hour! they treat other people around here like garbage and look after their friends. I don’t think Daniels is really friends with Borders like some of the other boys but Borders used him to get elected and the guys around the jail here say Borders takes care of him like he does Robert Myers, Chris Belton, Lee Piper and Scott Stone if you now what I mean. It pays to be friends with the sheriff.

Just yesterday the people of Lake County saw one of their anointed socially elite sentenced to 10 years in the Florida penitentiary system for DUI manslaughter! One who no doubt like many other Lake County well connected had been afforded chance after chance when caught driving while drinking! One like A. J. Rohe who has also been afforded the royalty treatment by Lake County’s law enforcement community. It didn’t work that well for him in Volusia County! Just last week A. J Rohe was driving like an idiot dodging in and out of traffic to get back to the office after lunch! Even though they say he is attending AA meeting’s in Eustis something necessary for proper human function is missing between the ears with this guy!
Now today October 1, 2011- hardly more than 24 hours after the sentencing of Bruce Duncan we have another member of the socially elite receiving the royal treatment for yet another DUI charge!
Chris Daniels, Jr. the son of the late Sheriff Chris Daniels was arrested by an officer of the Tavares Police Department for DUI at 11:45 AM! (just before noon on Saturday morning!) He was released “ROR” less than an hour later at 12:30 PM! In Lake County it pays to be connected to the powers that be! His mother Penny Norris is an investigator with the 5th SAO Brad King! Her niece Christy Spears Marden is the glorified secretary to Sheriff Gary Borders and his step father is the Tavares renowned criminal lawyer David Norris. The first question is who authorized him to be released on his own recognizance in less than an hour? The next question is will all these wonderful, great, well meaning, socially elite people some of whom just yesterday stood up for Bruce Duncan be there to stand up for Chris Daniels, Jr. and tell everyone what a fine young man he is and how he didn’t mean to drive drugged or drunk and kill all those innocent people its’ just that no one ever taught him not to do drugs and drink and drive but only to do drugs, drink and drive and try not to get caught but, not to worry, if you do we will fix it for you! You see when the system fails to treat everyone the same there is really no system at all. It’s nothing more than Oligarch’s taking care of their own! Ever innocent person on the road today is subject to encounter the likes of a protected species who may quite well cost them their life and repay their family with a tissue full of tears! This special treatment of Lake County’s elite has got to stop in the name of public safety!

We would like for everyone to know that as hard as hundreds of you folks have worked to make Lake county government a better place to work, honest and more transparent, very little has changed around here in the last three years. Case at hand- recently a group of us filed written complaints against Kristian Swenson. the written complaints were torn up right before our eyes accompanied with the comment “the board likes Kristian” and this is going no where! Only the names has changed around here in the last three years! If we had any honest board members they should check this out. Most will lie about it but not all. The board likes Kristian because like Darren he’s Minkoff’s puppet!
Government agencies have developed a penchant for establishing nonprofit corporations for various causes of public purpose! Some believe corrupt leaders can hide illegal expenses and kickbacks easier because many watchdogs don’t realize those corporations are subject to public inspection also- most of these so called non-profit government agencies are policed by their insider Inspector General’s who are nothing more than well paid whitewasher’s! Not one has ever uncovered any wrong doing within their agency! It’s always business as usual.
Don’t profit off nonprofits- This one is so obvious, it’s foolish I need to say it. Yet time and again we see nonprofit board members and their companies taking the very money they are supposed to be watching. Don’t do it!
Improve transparency- The money you’re watching is not your own. In most cases, it came from others — be it taxpayers or donors. They deserve to know how every cent is spent. If you don’t provide thorough and quick answers, you’re telling us you have something to hide.
Ask tough questions. The worst CEOs stuff their boards with patsies — people they know won’t ask tough questions. Often, when a scandal breaks, board members’ excuses are that they didn’t know what was going on. That’s no excuse. That’s the problem.
Listen to critics- You don’t have to bow down to everyone who takes a shot at you. But at least hear what they have to say. In all of the cases above, the someone raised questions on behalf of donors, taxpayers or the general public. And in every case, the initial reaction was to pooh-pooh the questions or DEMONIZE those asking them. To paraphrase Dr. Phil: “How’d that work out for ya?”
Never let the ends justify the means- If you ever find yourself answering questions about wasted money or unethical deals with responses like: “Well, the blood supply is safe,” or “The roads get built, don’t they?” you have a problem. This is a standard answer around Lake County!
If you have a problem- fix it. This is the simplest — and most overlooked — fix. Too often, people dig in their heels and defend the indefensible. This is what turns minor problems into major ones.
This is exactly what happened to Lake County government. When they were caught with their proverbial hands in the cookie jar, what did they do? Fire dozens of people and give others early retirement at 50 and then shred, shred and shred documents. Finally fire Cindy Hall and put Sandy Minkoff, the fox , in charge of guarding the hen house covering up the obvious acts of corruption. What was the benefit to this? Absolutely nothing! What was the long term goal? Maybe a race to the statute of limitations, who knows! At the end of the day, the evidence is still there, the crimes were still committed and millions of taxpayers dollars are gone with the wind! Maybe we should call Obama and tell him Lake County’s culture of corruption is making him and his Chicago thugs look like amateurs!

Pastors Unite Against IRS Restrictions on Political Speech in the Pulpit-
A regulation added to the IRS code back in 1954 has recently muddied the waters for pastors, creating a scenario in which some leaders are too fearful of federal consequences to exercise their right to free speech on such issues as homosexuality from the pulpit!
The Speak Up campaign (launched by the Alliance Defense Fund) addresses this important issue, while working to “protect and promote” the rights of American churches. In addition to making faith leaders aware of their constitutional right to free speech, the movement encourages pastors to stop self-censoring and to start making their political voices heard.
Now in addition to legal help, pastors can also join in on Pulpit Freedom Sunday, an annual event the coalition has launched to encourage pastors to preach sermons that examine candidates’ stances. Aside from exploring candidate opinion, churches are encouraged to look at and disclose to all what Scripture says about each issue. Then, they can make specific recommendations about whether or not the congregation should vote for or against specific candidates based on credible information regarding the political leanings as well as character or lack thereof of each candidate! Just a good old fashioned back to basics approach to politics!
Following the event, each pastor lets the IRS know about his or her sermon. The hope is that making the government aware of the code violation will spark an audit. Then, the constitutionality of the Johnson Amendment can be hashed out once and for all.
In 2008, only 33 pastors participated; this expanded to 80 faith leaders in 2009 and then nearly 100 in 2010. With the movement rapidly growing, even more leaders are poised to take part in this year’s Pulpit Freedom Sunday on October 2, 2011. Won’t you please encourage your church leaders to join in this movement to help return the right to free speach concerning the lack of morals and such; particularly in politics to those who already otherwise preach the word of God! What an incredible surprise. The jacka$$ who raised all of the baseless accusations against the K9 unit and handlers, who relied on faulty and cherry picked stats to make a case to eliminate the unit is all for the motorcycles. The motorcycles get ridden once or twice a month and the two qualified officers don’t write very many tickets anyway. They want to give the motorcycles 10 months, but wouldn’t give the K9 unit an extra few days for the second dog to become certified??? Is Mr Mathias in on a kickback deal with Gator Harley too or is he just pulling the strings on Chief Pinnochio? This place gets worse everyday with an ineffective and incompetent chief and a lieutenant who is either stuck in 1960 or has the onset of dementia. They both lie without remorse, and are continually screwing the employees who raise any objections. Maybe at some point, someone will realize that the police department desperately needs new leadership. The purpose of the police department is to maintain safety and order, not to employ useless drones.
No one is safe until everyone is committed to doing the right thing everytime! If you have children and the are subject to go to jail or go to other government facilities that has the power to away their rights, those who wield that power should then become totally responsible to insure their “public safety.” In the case of Michael Green that did not happen. That also has not happened in the case of others loved ones at the Lake County Jail!
As for Bruce Duncan, his attorney Michael Graves should have been drug tested today before he was allowed to represent Bruce Duncan. So obvious to the “untrained eye” he’s still on coke it’s unbelievable. I think the judge was Tatac or something like that and not Mark Nacke. He tends to do the right thing too much to suit the insiders.
These boys have tried every trick in the book. They have tried to out wait the public. Skipper Babb offered that silly job for Bruce that he could work for him and serive his time or whatever, that went over like a t**d in a goldfish bowl! Per Lake County good ole boy fashion you can write this down. If the judge was going to sentence Bruce Duncan to anywhere ner what he deserves he would have done it today in front of God and everybody. Like most folks have said from the start there’s another whitewash in progress; the judge is going to come back with a sentence in Duncan’s favor that really tick’s off the Lake County regular public. After al if they send a sick man to prison the taxpayers will be responsible for his medical bills! Like the unresponsive former Lake Jail inmate who was released time served on the day he died, Duncan is going to walk with good old fashioned Lake County well connected special treatment!
He will be a former inmate by the end of September!

As far as Bruce. Now he is in “bad health”. Wow!! They are trying everything. He can golf, but can’t go to prison. Huh! There is a public outcry. I hope Judge Nacke is aware and does the right thing. We will see
Hoss, actually I agree completely with you except for one fact. When you put someone in detox there is a reason for that. There is a schedule to follow to check on that person at least every 30 minutes. When on one checks on someone in detox from 12 midnight until the oncoming shift comes in and finds them “unresponsive” as in “comatose” and they fly that “former inmate” out in a chopper, do you see the potential for folks to wonder why he was not checked on for almost 6 hours while in detox? Not to mention all the squirming around to get him back before the judge by previously on taped (August 19, 2011) video so he could be released time served!
This death should be investigated by legitimate non-involved out of area with no contacts law enforcement, but it will never happen because they are the protected species just like Bruce Duncan.

I actually agree with your comments. As far as the guys dieing in jail. It’s tragic, but not the jails fault. Apparently one guy was having withdrawls from drinking or drugs. Why should the jail be 100% to blame? Another problem in todays world is no one is held accountable for their actions. If you drink too much or do drugs you could die. Atleast he didn’t harm anybody else. Bruce Duncan harmed somebody else. If you live a risky lifestyle you have to live with the consquences of that lifestyle.
As far as the lawyers in question. Lawyers take an Oath. The consider themselves better than the common man. Hence the word Esquire they use after their name. Well, if you want to be perceived as better than the common man, then you darn well better act like it! If you don’t, then you punishment should be MORE than what the common mans would be.
All I saw was Bruce Duncan try is darnest to get out of going to jail by having the critical evidence thrown out. Thank God for the State Attorney and Judge so far in this case. Lake Magazine had alot of community activities he was participating in while awaiting trial. I saw pictures of him playing in charity golf tournments. Pretty weak if you ask me. He KILLED somebody, and needs to go to jail. He can talk to kids about drinking and driving when he gets out. In about ten years.
GOOD QUESTION! – Insurance at the S O gone out of site! It looks like Borders budget cuts was on the backs of the employee’s by using their 3% retirement money and now we find out the health insurance has gone out of sight! Especially retiree’s paying into his self insurance fund! My cost just went from just over $700, to almost $1300. a month! Why? Don’t Borders realize he’ll be on the retirement list someday, soon I hope, and have to pay this outragious insurance? Something is not right here somewhere, wonder if somebody is dipping into this fund maybe. Wonder if this is why the financial director Lewie Wise was gone overnight?

I have known both the lawyers you are concerned about for years. Why is it that in Florida, it would appear that correctional officers can falsify safety and security rounds and no criminal charges are filed against them?
Isn’t it against the law to lie to a law enforcement officer? Shouldn’t law enforcement and correctional officers be held accountable if they falsify legal records, especially if those records put lives at risk?
In July 2009 Pinellas County jail Deputy Jimmie Davis falsified documentation that he had made his safety and security rounds. Inmate Kyle Donald Howard died and had been dead so long that rigor mortis had set in. There were apparently no criminal charges filed against Deputy Davis, he was simply terminated from his employment.
In 2010 when Pinellas County jail Deputy Patricia Shoberg falsified her safety and security rounds surrounding the death of Inmate Jennifer DeGraw, Deputy Shoberg was only suspended for 56 hours.
Didn’t these officers commit a crime by falsifying official records? The Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested two DCF sub-contractor workers for falsifying official records – why are law enforcement and correctional officers apparently exempt from these laws?
In Volusia County, we hold the belief that several jail officers falsifed official records involving several jail deaths, we invite you to review how the September 2009 death of Inmate Tracey Veira was handled. Cover ups on top of more cover ups!
Prior to 1997 – all in-custody jail deaths had to be investigated by the Florida State Prsion Inspector’s Office. However, in 1997, Florida Administrative Code 33-8 was repealed and was replaced by Florida Model Jail Standards – that pretty much allows the Florida Sheriffs to self regulate each other’s jails. Is the well being and safety of Florida jail inmates being compromised under Florida Model Jail Standards?
Now recently we have had two inmate jail deaths at the Lake County jail in two weeks! In the first instance of Michael Ray Green on August 22, 2011 sheriff’s officials went to all the trouble to take his case back before the judge for an order of time served and announced he was a “former inmate.” Why because someone dropped the ball at the Lake County jail and everyone is pointing fingers at the other one! The end result Michael Ray Green is dead and his family deserves the truth about what happened to their loved one! “All in-custody jail deaths should be investigated by the Florida State Prison Inspector’s Office or some other agency who will not whitewash and cover up the truths that surround these deaths! The entire system has now been curved to enhance insiders protecting insiders! Code Blue can do no wrong!
Administrators of Lake County Schools are saying they “want to expand a program they say gets students ready for taking advanced-placement classes and helped boost writing scores on the last Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test.”
Perhaps you don’t see the problem with this statement? I would suggest that you speak to teachers and understand the real problem. Administrators want teachers to instruct in a manner that improves test scores while teachers want children to learn. This is far more than just a play on words, this is a fundamental flaw with the leadership of Lake County School District. Please call your school board member and tell them you want leadership in place for educating our students not people that teach kids how to take tests.

I think the HR people in LCSO and Lady Lake either need to learn their jobs or find a new line of work.”
Seems like the HR in Lady Lake and the LCSO have more in common than we knew! That’s right turn them “oxies” into you local law enforcement agency so that can send the up the road for profit! Just wondering who stopped by and paid her for the protection? Sheriff’s insiders just get their’s through the jail ask Lenhart. Oh, I forgot that’s a secret!
Next week on September 28, 2011 – we will celebrate the third anniversary of the right Side of the Lake’s breaking news story concerning multitudes of questionable activities within the Lake County government.
What do we have to celebrate? Dozens and dozens of employee’s including the county manager, who was on the payroll in September 2008, are long gone. Only a few of them was connected to the ongoing culture of corruption that has engulfed Lake County! Many were simply there because they were friends and had connections! Even so, that is not necessarily something to celebrate!
Researchers uncovered millions of dollars in questionable expenditures, Friends and families of the well connected receiving FRESH FREE NEW HOMES that cost the taxpayers $158,000. Each and COMPLETE HOME MAKEOVERS AND APPLIANCES at a cost of $68 thousand each- some county employee’s and others getting up to $30 thousand FREE HOME DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE! As well as a playhouse environment between the chiefs and Indians!
After three years of uncovering one Lake County government scheme after another no legitimate outside law enforcement agency has come forth with handcuffs to load up these criminals! They have however used barrels of preparation H to tighten up their criminal empire operations and look both ways before crossing the streets! They don’t know who to trust because they can’t figure out who’s ratting them out at ever corner!
Herein is reason to celebrate! This will be the third anniversary of the invitation of THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE LAKE to bring forth these legitimate allegations straight to the people of Lake County.

What we have to celebrate next week is the fact that thanks to the RIGHT SIDE OF THE LAKE and participating bloggers thousands of Lake County citizens are now aware of the internal operations of their local government agencies! They are aware of the grants, the bonds, the waste, the insider trading, and all the free things that people can get designed for the needy but given to the friends of the greedy! They know that if you are well connected at the sheriff’s office you can beat your wife or girlfriend, keep your job and they will cover it up!
On the other hand they also know if you are in the Borders click, they will help you lie and set up your girlfriend to make it look like she is the aggressor, arrest her on duty as a deputy sheriff put her in jail and cost her job and that’s OK because it’s a man’s world!
So much has been exposed on the RSOL in the last few years it’s impossible to recap it all! But, the main thing is; it has been exposed that untold numbers of boys at Borders Green Isle Boys ranch was abused sexually and otherwise over the years. And at ever point of each investigation he was their to block any progress of prosection of the offenders!
So, what we have to celebrate on September 28, 2011 is three years of open dialogue for the most part uncensored except for dirty words and such! We celebrate this at the same time every limb of government local and national are committed to suppressing and/or filtering all media releases and silencing the people so they can not educate their fellow man and woman!
Recently we saw a comment referring to this period of exposure of Lake County’s corruption as the Cold War of Lake County, this does in fact basically describe this last three years! At the end of the day, the taxpayers have been robbed repeatedly by an ongoing culture of corruption by Lake County officials! Overwhelming crimes have been committed over and over!
The Richard Nixon “operation cover up” has been put into effect hundreds of times! It is past due for the handcuffs- the victims (the voters and taxpayers of Lake County) have been patient long enough!

HEY MAN! Did anyone happen to notice that Berndt Peterson guy from channel 9 was hardly found on the courthouse story yesterday? Talk about between a rock and a hard place- he didn’t want to be seen! Next thing you know he’ll be run out of Lake County like Kathi Belich and the other girls- who knows he might even get fired and move back to Philly like Kenneth Moton did for conspiracy to concoct that breaking news rape story at the church that Sunday morning with PIO LT. John Herrell. Coming anywhere close to telling the truth in Lake County is a violation of the “inter-sanctum.” Who ever told that guy this was a $40 million courthouse expansion anyway. Last check it was like $55 million. No one gives the real dollars on anything in Lake. Hell, the sheriff asked for $52 million and got $60 million- like George Nahas says; is this a great country or what?
