Remember when they first come out with “windows 95″ and someone published that book called “Windows for Dummies 95?”
Is there a “how to run a law enforcement agency into the ground FOR Dummies” book out there somewhere?
People from all around who do not know each other can not possible make this stuff up. Over here at the Lake Sheriff’s Office it’s one circle jerk after another.
All I can say is Thank God we have some folks around here still from the old school. They are the only thing holding this place together right now and even that’s by threads alone. I saw those remarks about Bushnell and the Lady Chief and her little pigs and goats.
We don’t have any little goats yet, well on second thought maybe we do, but they’re not causing much trouble right now but; we have got a slew of little pigs running around and not one leader here that has any experience or talents using the words of “suey. suey, suey.”
Just like you say Lady Lake is, there is a lot of good people here at LCSO that are just holding on by the skin of their teeth! If the voters don’t decide to get rid of this nightmare those good, honest, moral people will be gone and they will be gone for good this time.
People can only take so much of this joke and then it’s not funny anymore!
This sounds just like Lady Lake, they also arrested a woman for domestic battery and had to turn around and let her go. They were called to a house in Lady Lake by the female for problems with her boyfriend. Officer Barrett arrived on scene and reliazed he knew the man at the residence and instantly took his side in the situation because he worked with EMS or one of those agencies with officer Barrett in the past. The woman was taken to a woman’s shelter near by and later officer Barrett showed up to arrest her. Several problems with this they had to go into the county’s zone to do it. In cases like this they are to notify Lake county sheriff’s office for assistance since it is not in the city of Lady Lake, officer Barrett decided not to follow regulations. He arrested her on tromped up charges and took her took her to the jail. The next day the charges were dropped by the state attorney and nothing was done to officer Barrett for the screwup. Oh,I’m sorry he got a slap on his hand and his sargent was demoted to officer and all the others involved got nothing due to a Lt. Wherry that handled the situation. Lt Wherry and officer Barrett are cigar smoking and beer drinking buds so this is why threre are problems at Lady Lake like Bushnell. There is a group of officers that don’t know what they are doing and run the place. Then there is majority of officers that have to put up with the others in order to keep their jobs. All the time Nathanson could’nt find his way out of a paperbag with a string tied around his neck. Can’t wait until they all get what is coming to them. To the good officers left hang in there time will caught up with them.
We were wrongly arrested in Bushnell in December 2011. $6K in attorney’s fees & many restless nights & headaches later, our charges were finally dropped. The whole town was in on the scam! It took us days to get our truck, which was towed to one of their “yards”. They couldn’t figure out what they were charging us with. It took them almost 10 hours to get the paperwork to the jail. We were charged with felonies when it simply should have been a misdemeanor, if anything! We were harassed. 2 off duty cops decided to be neighborhood heroes. I wish we would be contacted by this outside agency. We will gladly have them contact our attorney to discuss our case, which even the workers at the jail saw as ridiculous & were shocked & ashamed of the Bushnell Police Department. They confiscated my camera, which went “missing”, but once our attorney contacted them, it re-appeared. And, we could only pick it up during limited hours, even though I requested that it be mailed. We live over an hour away. The woman dropped it on the counter as if to break it when she finally handed it off to me. I took days off from work to deal with this mess. If anyone could provide the name of the outside agency, which I couldn’t find in The Daily Commercial, I would gladly contact them to help their case against these corrupt people in their Police Department.
Hey Watcher. One thing will never happen for sure. You will never see an article about the Lady Lake Police Depatment or town goverment or anything derogatory and truthful about the Lake Sheriff’s Office like the Bushnell one in the Commercial. They are not allowed to tell the truth about Lake County! That is not unless the powers that be wanted to take the police department apart and turn it over to their main man Gary Borders. Right now they are worred about all the truth about Borders flooding and getting all over the streets so that might not be a wise move right now.
The problem is no matter how controlling and well connected they all are the truth has been leaking to the streets for some time now thanks to social media and blogs!
The funny thing is when you read the Bushnell story you could just as well replaced the names with those at the LCSO and probably Lady Lake as well. Speaking of which everytime someone mentions the Lake Lake PD the officer that committed suicide on the #2 Road in Howey comes to mind. Folks at the scene said he left 12 pages of suicide notes; others said it was only two pages. The only thing folks know for sure now is don’t believe anything that comes from the LCSO.
You could take Joyce Wells name out of that story and replace it with Gary Borders and do an instanct reprint. He sells energy alright but not energy drinks from his truck. The really sad thing is with the little pigs running around the office the goats wouldn’t be safe around here!
Most of the so called law enforcement agencies in Lake County (and surrounding areas as well) have lost all simulation of morals, honesty and decency.
How many more people have to be abused, murdered, crippled and maimed because those who are supposed to be enforceing the law are in fact morallychallenged and so far below hinesty themselves that many do not meet the perjury test for testifying in a court of law.
How would any decent human being like to have a loved one raped or robbed and abused or even worse lose a loved one to a criminal and find out that the investigating officer is of such degrading immoral character the states attorney can’t use their testimony at trial?
Guess what? There are hundreds of them that fail that test right here in central Florida!

In the past 12 months, while America has experienced a 1.5% increase in jobs, Florida has only gone up by 1%. In the last 12 months, Lake County has actually LOST 433 jobs.
Slashing taxes and impact fees doesn’t actually work, does it?
Did anyone read the daily commercial today? The article about the Bushnell police department, this sounds like so many of our local small agencies. The police chief Joyce Wells also worked for Lady Lake police department and Gloria Terry use to work for Lake County sheriff’s office, her ex-son in law also works for Lady Lake and the two acts alike. Neither one of them knows how to do their jobs in the investigations unit. Does Joyce Wells act like Ed Nathanson doing business on company time? Nathanson is famous for begging money for all of his so called charity organizations while on duty. He is also one of the most unethical police chiefs you can ask for. How it is the small city of Bushnell finally got the point that something needed to be done with several individuals within the department, but Lady Lake can’t.
The rumors are that the town manager/town clerk of Lady Lake might have gotten the writing on the wall last week by city attorneys. This made her react to problems within the police department due to pending legal actions against the city that were discussed in a closed meeting last Monday. Its rumor she is calling in all employees of the police department and asking questions about the problems within the department and what they feel should be done. What gets me is how she thinks removing Nathanson as chief and making Wherry acting chief will better the department. If you ask anyone inside the department what they want, you get a big NO to Wherry doing anything. There are only a handful that would agree to Wherry being put in control and that would be the ones that have helped him destroy the moral of the department and those few know who they are.
Numerous employees have left Lady Lake police department in the last year, all have given letters reference unethical behavior, poor working conditions, no proper training, threatening and harassment of employees and nothing was done by the town manager, police chief, human resources or the commission. Maybe the thought of the city losing a lot of money due to their actions will be the wakeup call they need. Lady Lake too might be looking at the long term decision of being replaced by the county or revamping the entire department starting with the number one clown of the police department and continuing on over to the city manager. A fresh start with individuals that will promote moral standards and harmony within the town it needs.
Just remember what you sow today is what you reap tomorrow.
What happened to you last Wednesday? I thought for sure you would show up at the NLTP/ Republican Federation of Womens’ Property Appraiser candidate forum. I guess you were just too busy to show any real interest in your county. Well, let me tell you you missed a really great forum..We had it all, from feisty candidates to underdogs who shined, two hours of great comments from four very knowledgeable candidates. It’s too bad you don’t take more interest in your county.
All the candidates were well informed and answered questions and commented in very intelligent terms but one candidate stood out from all the rest. Pam Lee was not only knowledgeable but also far out shown the other candidates in her overall understanding of the position and her in depth research.
It’s to bad that you lost her as a participant in your little candidate forum because she would have surely add a spark to it and maybe even made it worth reading.
i would like to know if you could help me with a stupid code that the lake county commissioners have approved it is code .03.06.03 it says we can have a bout,trailer,or a rv. in our drive way unless you have 62′ from the front of your rv to the center of the main road i live in scottish highland off of 473 there is 650 homes in here and only about 4-5 homes has that long of a drive way the code says we only have 24hr. to load and unload there is nobody in here that can do that because of our age our bylaws says we have 72hr. to do what we need to do we are secluded from the out side the code came in in 2009 these homes was built in 1985 we should be grandfather in or let us be exempt from the county and go by our bylaws i have called and e-mail jennifer hill our county commissioner three weeks a go and have heard noting from her can you help

Talk about a squeaker getting through the Legislature.
Voters in the North Lake Hospital District finally will get their say on whether to keep taxing themselves, but it was a close one.
“Double-dealing” by Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares nearly killed it, the bill’s sponsor said, and a senator’s sudden flip-flop after a direct plea from Gov. Rick Scott kept it alive.
Ah, the fascinating little things us average folk never hear about when it comes to lawmaking.
The bill sponsored by state Rep. Larry Metz, R-Yalaha, requires taxpayers on the north side of the county to keep paying $1 for every $1,000 of taxable value until 2016, when voters will get to decide whether to continue taxing themselves under a new structure created when the bill was approved earlier this month.
The new structure requires that any health-care provider receiving the money prove that they are using it only for care of the poor.
As it is now, Waterman and Leesburg Regional Medical Center have collected up to $18 million in some years for “continuing hospital services,” which is just about anything from paying the light bill to buying toilet paper. Only the hospitals and a local mental-health provider got the cash.
Metz worked his tail off to get the bill passed, and near the end watched it go through a bizarre series of procedural snags, improper votes and outright sabotage by state Sen. Alan Hays, R-Umatilla.
Hays could have killed the bill, and in the last three frantic days of the session it appeared he would, first through a series of amendments that would have gutted the measure and then by a procedural objection.
‘More bureaucracy’
It’s a mystery how any real Republican could take the position that residents should have no say in whether to be taxed for money that is being turned over without any accountability. At every turn, Hays kept adding the specific names of the hospitals as recipients. He must have some powerfully good friends in those hospitals.
“I think the hospitals got to Sen. Hays,” said Jane Johnson, health and human services policy coordinator for Gov. Scott.
Johnson said she pulled Hays off the Senate floor on the last morning of the session to stress how Scott believed Metz’s bill could be a model for the rest of the state.
“He remained dug in,” Johnson said of Hays.
After that, the senator talked with the governor’s chief of staff, and then Hays said Scott personally lobbied him to drop his objections.
“I told him, ‘I’m sorry, I’m just not in favor of taking your position,’ ” Hays said.
The senator has said that he objects to Metz’s bill because things are working just fine now and the bill would only create “more bureaucracy.”
What nonsense. As if being accountable for millions of tax dollars is an option.
“The reason I backed off is that we’re going to be facing an election on this in four years. If I had held my ground and been stubborn, it would have been a constant fury,” Hays said. “You’d [this columnist] have been nailing me to the wall between now and then.
“Now I’ve disarmed you.”
‘A breach of trust’
Hays said he’s confident voters in 2016 will continue to tax themselves to pay for the poor.
“Lake Countians are a generous group, and they take care of their own,” he said.
While the drama with Hays was playing out in the background, Metz said he caught Waterman in an “unforgivable” act of treachery.
Metz said the hospital vigorously opposed the bill, which is hardly a surprise. It could lose its annual infusion of free cash under the new structure, so lobbyists were fighting like crazy to kill it.
However, Metz negotiated a deal: He would raise the eligibility of poor people for free hospital care from incomes of 100 percent or less of the poverty level to 200 percent of the poverty level. He agreed to two other small changes, too.
In return, the hospital was to allow the bill to pass. But Metz said he caught the hospital continuing to lobby to kill the bill behind his back.
“They were telling me one thing and doing another,” Metz said. “I’m not letting them off the hook. They did something unforgivable in the legislative process — a breach of trust. Trust is not to be breached, and if it’s breached, it’s not to be forgotten.
“They should not get a pass for the way they behaved.”
The power of one
Waterman, which is owned by Seventh-day Adventists, theoretically operates on fundamental Christian principles. Neither Ken Mattison, president and chief executive officer, nor Carrie Fish, senior vice president and chief operating officer, responded to requests for an explanation of the departure from its stated beliefs.
What a shame that Waterman would choose to depart from an honorable strategy when money is at stake. That lays the hospital open to unpleasant criticism. The public is owed an explanation.
Still, Metz’s bill passed, and Lake should smooch not only him but Sen. Paula Dockery, R-Lakeland, who patiently worked the bill through all the craziness in the Senate during the last three days.
However, the biggest thanks should go to the one woman who made it all possible: Marilyn Bainter.
The wife of former state representative Stan Bainter took on this issue as her own and vowed to get something done. She not only got herself elected to the hospital district’s governing board but pressed on to push the reform. She is a testament to the power of one.
Now that is a staggering thought! Good thing he retired and got in to politics I guess. His ptactice would be really limited in modern society. The gay and lesbian community don’t like him because of the remarks he made about his cousin dying of aids and deserving it. More recently he made some comments about ‘them hispanic speaking people.” One would think a man his age with a “DR” in from of his name would know most hispanics when not speaking english speak that language know as spanish. It appears this Florida adopted Kentuckian ain’t to bright.
The thoughts of him having his hands in my mouth makes me sick but, just as bad the reality of him having his hands in my pockets is even more repulsive. One fact for sure he adapted the the style of a political professional 527 and all without much tutoring!
How many of you would really want Alan to drill on your teeth? Vote Romney for yes, Obama for no.

During the campaign, Scott proposed a seven-step plan that he said would lead to the creation of 700,000 jobs. When asked by reporters, Scott said those jobs would be in addition to the jobs economists predicted would be created naturally — by either population growth or growth in the overall economy.
But Scott flip-flopped months into office, announcing in October that he would rely “on actual job growth each month.”
Now even that modified promise is looking shaky.
The 2011 net jobs created was 115,700, according to revised data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. And in January 2012, the state lost 38,600 jobs — the largest drop in the country.
Since Scott took office, the state has added 77,100 jobs — or 54,200 jobs — depending on when you start counting. That’s miles short of the pace he needs to keep his original promise. It’s also now shy of even the revised promise he made in October.
REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR, REPUBLICAN HOUSE, REPUBLICAN SENATE. RECORD JOB LOSSES. WAY TO GO.
Its a pretty sad place when the imbecile who runs the place doesn’t know anything about federal and state labor laws. Just something else to cost the taxpayers more money.
Just what you need in Lady Lake is for the sheriff’s office to take over the Lady LicK PD!
Since Borders can’t count money and can’t collect it fast enough to keep the checks from bouncing and the bills paid at the SO he needs more cash flow for sure. Let’s see while we’re thinking about the LCSO taking over the LLPD lets talk about staffing. Would you folks prefer a unified staff of straight drunks mostly male variety run by he likes of Chief drunk Peyton Grinnell, who could just drop by LLPD going and coming to his real job in Tavares (he doesn’t spend much time here either) or would you prefer a unified staff of Gary’s faries if he can spare a few. From what we are experiencing here at the LCSO we would suggest one or the other staffing options because we have found when we mix and mis-match them it’s causes great dissention within the department. Especially with the ones who have been hand trained by the boss because they become so cocky and overbearing it’s hard for the straight folks to tolerate them!

Well we have heard that Lady Lake Police department has demoted one of the BAD APPLES from supervisor to plain dispatcher. You see they are still there, just using another name. The bad apples never left just lied to get where they are. For years we told the administration how bad it was in the communication center and Eddy would blow smoke up our **** and never do anything about it. Vern encouraged TM to harass and make the communication center a hell hole; He even participated in the activity. He would threaten only the females and walk away like nothing ever happened and the poor female involved would be the one who was written up for standing up for herself. The Town Clown/Manager also allowed the HR personnel to take part and turn their head the other way. In the last year and a half the department has lost numerous employees due to these two individuals tag teaming employees and forcing them to leave because they could not recruit more of their devil kind.
TM, don’t forget we know your secret of calling into work and then going to the bar to party. Mr. Hannan made a comment that they were going to get rid of the bad apples, I guess he is waiting for the whole tree to fall down due to picking the wrong apples and letting the bad ones rot on the tree and destroy it. Great job! Maybe you should spend a little more time doing your job and not surfing the internet for party girls, you naughty boy.
Last but not least, I want to let the new lieutenant know that we all stand behind you trying to bring some hope to a sinking ship. Consider your new job a challenge, kinda like working in a snake pit and not knowing which snake is going to bite you next. A. J. Rohe (Albert James) No wonder he took on the AJ that name sounds like a chauffer or something. Nothing but another Lake County spoiled brat that fell into the click of what he thought was protection. You see him though he was like the Godfather Bob McKee and was untouchable. I see when he got arrested in 2003 by Mt Dora cops for cop beating at a local bar it took the Lake system about five weeks to slither that one through the “system” with a no information solution. It never happened!
What is more interesting that that 2003 well connected whitewash is something that he was not protected against. Aging! Man look at his mug shot in the Lake Jail in 2003 and look at his mug shot at the Volusia County jail in 2011, I just eight short years this dude has gone from grandson to grandpa right before our eyes! Man that high rolling night life must be a rough life if it puts the aging process into high gear like that. The sad thing for Lake County folks is if he had cleaned out a bar in Lake County AGAIN they would have whitewashed it with a no information filing!
Why does all these socially elite people in Lake County thank they are above the law? Because for some reason their very existence has convinced them they are their own law! Who authorized Lake County and its high and mighty leadership to create their own dynasty of protection for their membership? The list goes on and on of those who have been arrested with connections to the “system” while they get special treatment and many continue to keep their same jobs or be transferred to out of sight jobs within their agency,
Lake County’s culture of corruption continues to destroy more and more lives. No matter that “A J” got two years probation and will have some kind of “BAR problem because of his “BAR” problem. Whether people like him realize it or not the public still looks at reputation. Do you want to hire a divorce lawyer with a temper and obviously a problem with cops and authority? His first partner could obviously see his shorting comings and didn’t want his name on the building with his.
Like is just not fair! Lake’s lawyer community has this bully who even after getting probation with no jail time continues to have fits and throw things and rumors are he will have to take his name off his office. We have Bruce Duncan who thanks to the “system” is somewhere “out of the system” on “unsupervised custody” for some reason. Some reason because since he was released from the system, the system has reportedly given several reasons for his out of the system status. None of which holds water at this point. On February 27th they told the motorcycle club he was out of state custody because he was suing the Lake County Jail. Then on March 2, 2012 he had a Bar hearing with friends showing up in Gainesville to testify for him. Now some of the bikers feel they were lied to by “the system” so they would not be at his hearing. No matter what as of March 12. 2012 at 7am Bruce Duncan is still missing from the state prison system for some reason!
The reason life ain’t fair is because here we have Bruce and A. J.- whether anyone wants’ to admit it or not both their lives and careers were destroyed because they had that aire of importance that they were above the law. (Reminds me of Bob McKee, he has that same feeling)
In Bruce’s case he committed a crime so heinous that even though the system stalled and tried every way in the world to make his charges go away; friends of the victim stood tall and forced the system to bring Bruce Duncan to justice! Albeit that he’s got connections and playing games with the system as we speak!
Another socially elite is a lot more lucky than Bruce and A. J.- The great criminal attorney Michael Graves has been anointed by the system to be the next 5th Circuit of Florida Public Defender! I’ll bet every one of you thought this was an elected position! He He!
Well it’s supposed to be an elected position but, the system has decided a long time ago that “they” are going to give the job to Michael Graves! On April 4, 2011 he qualified as so far the still only candidate for the job. The current office holder Skipper Babb has quietly ignored this election year; has made no announcement of his pending retirement and hoping everyone with two brain cells will think he, the incumbent is running and when the voters get to the ballot the only candidate will be Michael Graves! BANG HE IS ANOINTED!
All of this for a guy who has had his own bar problems twice! Once he had to take his name off the office just like A. J. is having to do! But, while Bruce and A. J. are suffering because the system could no longer protect them; the system is working quietly under the veil of “the system” to anoint Michael Graves to a state job so he can draw him some of those benny fits and small checks and if he can hang on for six short years a nice fat retirement check for the rest of his life!
Is Lake County a great place to live and work if you are connected to “the system?” You bet it is!
I hope he gets disbarred! The Florida Bar is a bit of a joke though. Can’t wait to see what they do.
Hey Bruce, where are you at now? When you got out of the state pen on 2/24/2012 two weeks ago yesterday they used all kinds of excuses for you. They told the biker dudes you were in “unsupervised custody” because you were suing the Lake County Jail for a civil rights violation. We know you are too old for Borders. lol
Then last week the ole hag from the bankrupt out of town rag had her friends do a story that said you were in the Alachua County Jail for a bar hearing to keep you law license active. They said all of your friends were going to be up there testifying as to what a nice guy you are. Being a nice guy is not in dispute, everyone likes you! Funny how they lied to the biker dudes and didn’t tell them about all your friends showing up to take up for you again and come up with this civil rights thing so they wouldn’t know about the hearing. You still ain’t showing up in the pen so you got to be funning about Tyrone.
We got to looking at all that Utopia stuff that Bob McKee and his old friend Robert “Q” Williams has got going with McKee’s step-son Damon Bentley called Utopia Investment Group and got to wondering if maybe you were off to Utopia for a while. Looks like Prince Lazarath makes his own laws and after they raise that $5 Billion they want they’ll be conning, coining or printing there own money too. Just thinking maybe you and A. J Rohe might be hooked up with McKee and the boys on this thing because ya’ll won’t be needing any law license to practice in Utopia. From what they say Utopia will be about like Lake County, no law at all and really special protection for the those in charge like no extradition and all.
They say the peasants will have apartment under the airport runway to live in. Sounds like a plan to me!

I was hoping to get A.J. as a cell mate. After spending a few weeks locked-up with Tyrone, I can hardly sit down.
Some folks are wondering if RSOL will be doing a candidate forum on Michael Graves running for Public Defender? Seems Skipper Babb has skipped the qualifing so far and maybe a retirement party is forthcoming, who knows it’s so quiet around here! Everything is wither secret or top secret nowadays!

Lauren Ritchie would be the first to say that what she writes is only opinion . We all know about opinions. She has a want to expose waste of taxpayer money and has done so in several cases,however the sheriff appears to be exempt from her srutiny. Owned by the sheriff?
I’ll bet you done a real good job dissecting that frog too! When a human is a total POS it matters not who they chose to sleep with nightly. However things like a penchant for hangiing around little boys from 1980 and answering a queston on an application “what is your favorite hobby” with “handling children” along with organizing a boys ranch with other friends in Lake County in 1987 when Borders was working at the Osceola County jail and had no idea or plans to move to Lake County at the time but by the year the boys ranch opens (1989) he was fired from Osceola County and got a jailer job in Lake County starting January 1989.
Still the Green Isle Boys Ranch was his little secret shared with only a few “special” friends for over 20 years! He even tried to go back to Osceola County jail in late 1992 but that didn’t happen for reasons unknown. Even then he never mentioned the Green Isle Boys Ranch.
The documented sexual abuses and rumors of same that have leaked from the Green Isle Boys Ranch since it’s inception are atrocious. The 2000 rape case of a 9 year old Sumter county boy has completely disappeared from the Lake Sheriff’s records. Even disappeared from the clerks records. But it was real and settled out of court by Morgan & Morgan.
The 2009 case investigation of the violent rapes of 5 little boys at Green Isle by a boy seen standing next to Borders in the Green Isle publication both grinning during the timeline of the rapes was stopped dead in it’s tracks by Borders! They closed the Green Isle and tried to cover up all the facts! To this day no official news release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office regarding these brutal rapes reported on November 21, 2009 has ever been made. The news leaked to the media by house parents on February 3, 2010 was shutin down and taken off the internet post haste.
Gary Borders has never addressed this twenty plus years involvement at Green Isle and he surely has never addressed why he covered up the crimes committed against these little boys and with held the breaking news of these crimes from the public.
So again, everyone with brains in Lake County and beyond knows about Gary’s lifestyle and who he spends is spare time with and where. Everyone with brains knows that he has to get up and go home early every morning to get ready for work!
In this modern world we live in most people don’t care what others do in the privacy of their own bedrooms. But, most people darn well care what others do around their children and especially to children who are held in some ranch, school, or other custody status system where those children are at the mercy of those sworn to serve and protect them while in fact that person is protecting the very violent criminals that are abusing those children held in confinement with no possible defense from the outside world!
This is what matters to real people. Not the people who stand in line to suck up to someone like Borders because they have a sweet deal or a job that requies nothing of them or, they know if they do he will let them get away with murder, continue their long time well organized drug sales and use and other criminal activities because they are all in one sweet little click!
That’s what real people are concerned about. And the facts are there for all to see and everyone knows it! Why do you think they have quit harrassing those lying, libelous bloggers and gone into secret meetings and hidings? Because they know those bloggers have got the evidence to which they speak, that’s why! Conspiracy Yes! Theory and politicks No!

First of all if Isom was friends with Tom Berlinger the FDLE agent that was finally made to negotiate his leaving like Gary Borders was Berlinger would have whitewashed this thing for Isom like he whitewashed the Green Isle Boys rapes for Borders.
And then, Borders didn’t have anything but an Ashland, KY high school diploma when he was anointed sheriff. But by the time he ran in 2008 he had his jailhouse professor Scott Kirkland working on his 2 year Vincennes degree and then Kirkland got his a 4 year degree from Columbia as well.
So, which is worse buying them with taxpayers money like Isom did; having a Lake Jail employee do your work for you on the computer and on the taxpayers payroll and then getting promoted to a real deputy sheriff on the road like Gary Borders did or, getting you some blank forms and some white out and just making them on the copy machine like Bob McKee did?
I’m still wondering which one of them is the most ethical.
Can you believe it? Just saw a report on channel 9 news were the City of Fruitland Park is going to give Mark Isom a plaque for the great job he performed for them over twenty some odd years. Really! He committed a crime called FRAUD on the city and cost thousands of dollars, which he didn’t pay. The official charges were Official Misconduct and plead to a misdemeanor instead of a felony. As part of the agreement to reduce the charge from a felony he had to resign, give up his law enforcement certificate and never work for another agency again.
First they were going to have a private party for him without the taxpayers knowing, and then it got out to the media. At this time the commission with egg on their face had to talk about it in an open meeting and admit they were trying to hide this from us. So, then they decided to still do it and just have the Town manager take him to lunch and give him the plaque, and remember the taxpayers are still paying for it. Not to mention it too would have been a crime to have a private party without taxpayer’s knowledge. To try and clarify what they had done they told everyone that this is what Mark wanted, not them. RIGHT, most of the commission are idiots and have no idea what is legal or not.
How many times did Isom make the comment that didn’t care who you were if you committed a crime he would arrest you? But, it’s okay for him to do it and get a big plaque to boot! Then have his wife stand up in a city council meeting and talk about how the city owes this to her family and how we are making their lives a living hell. She better put the blame where it belongs and on her husband who knowingly and willingly committed the crime, not the people who believed in him and trusted him. We are the ones that deserve an apology.
Ask the great Mayor Chris Bell how he can spend our money and laugh about it! And let’s not forget the fat Town manager that laughed and wanted to know if he could get his money back for buying the stupid thing and spending almost a hundred dollars on it out of his own pocket. To top it off this was done while Mark was still employed and charged with the crime he committed. Yes, he gave over twenty years of service and started with great ambition to work hard for the city and protect all who live within it, but he got tangled in the idea of being Sheriff of Lake County and needed a college degree, which he did not have, so he just bought one. Does he deserve a reward for the years of true service he gave?
Let’s not forget the mess the city is in due to poor management of our tax dollars by the town manager, commissioners and our great Mayor. Thank you for making me feel safe knowing who’s in control. Come to a commission meeting and watch a new possible reality television show called “How the Idiots run the City” or how about “Idiots gone wild”
Even though I have seen hundreds of comments on blogs all over the internet including some found on attorney’s websites in Orlando for the last several years regarding Gary Borders and the Green Isle Ranch I for one do not recall any of those blogs specifically blaming Gary Borders closet homosexuality as the reason for all the problems at the sheriff’s office. The main comments seem to surround Gary Borders lifelong penchant for hanging around juvenile boys. One much deeper than simply coaching ball. One where his entire adult life around these young boys pictures him like a kid in a candy store! While it might very well be an underlying factor in his lack of a personality and ability to interact with most adults the fact remains as you say it wouldn’t make any difference if it was Peyton Grinnell with Marci Levinson under the Leesburg Commercial counter or any of his other hundreds of spontaneous rendezvous that we have known about around here for years. Those actions simply go to a lack of human decency and respect for those around you. Not many people care about Borders lifestyle and everyone knows it. Just recently some local “rednecks of the highest honor” hosted a fish fry for Borders at their private residence. The big money man can be seen in a local mullet wrapper standing there with Borders arm over his shoulder. This same money man has told everyone that he knows “what” Borders is but he likes him because he’s in the click with them and Borders and Ben Johnson sheriff of Volusia County does mess with our boys, whatever that means!
Even the gay and lesbian clubs don’t like Borders because he lies about his lifestyle! Theobold recently come out of the closet, Borders should come out of the closet too! Stop lying! It’s not about the lifestyle it’s about the lying. Can you imagine putting him on the stand in a criminal case? Ask him if he is HOMO and he lies! Then ask him a question pertaining to the criminal case and impeach his testimony because there is document proof he is a HOMO.
Here is the problem. Every human just like building blocks begins to form their lives in the formative years. No doubt some people are born with homosexual traits and are no doubt a freak of nature. While they and society might not like that title it is a fact. These people are to be respected and treated by society just like every other of Gods children. However most of the homosexuals in our society today are the products of recruitment at an early age usually by older adults who were likewise abused or recruited into homosexuality at an early age. These actions are an act against nature. And those adults who recruit juveniles into this madness are violating the laws.
When a person’s life is built on the lack of a natural substantive puberty evolution they develop a condition called inferiority complex. That condition promotes the effects and manifests itself a spilt personality syndrome.
At this point in a persons life they become in fact at least two people living in one body. They believe that some people can see them for what they are and might expose them and tend to be sheepish and cowardly when not within their sphere of influence. On the other hand when in their sphere of influence they are controlling, influencing domineering and their otherwise normal human individual traits tend to surface when in this mode. They might be violent in some occasions
The one trait that seems to never change in these kind of people is the fact that with the exception of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover who chose to surround himself with brilliant people demanding prerequisites like law degrees and/ or accounting degrees and such; they usually seem to surround themselves with the drags of society so that they and they alone stand out as the most intelligent and most important person within an organization.
In Borders case this is why “He surrounds himself with people who also have no management skills and personality problems of their own.” It would be hard for him to surround himself with intelligent people because most intelligent people can see right through him and probably would not lower themselves to work in such an environment. The ole proverbial one rotten apple spoils the entire barrel, the results of which is so very obvious to those outside the “click” who chose to tell the truth and stand on the rock of honesty, decency and integrity. No, Gary Borders lifestyle is not and should not be the focus of comments, blogs, politics and any other medium. The fact that Gary Borders has covered up major crimes for his friends at the Green Isle Boys Ranch as well as many other crimes Borders has covered up for his friends should be the focus on Gary Border. A total lack of decent character as evidenced by thousands of hours on investigations and public documents. The fact that if Lake County and Central Florida was not a lawless nation people like Gary Borders and many of his friends would be in the prison where they belong.
You keep talking about the reason all the problems at the sheriff’s office are occurring is because of the sexual preference of Gary Borders. Could it be that he is a very poor administrator? He surrounds himself with people who also have no management skills and personality problems of their own. I don’t think the problem is who Borders chooses to sleep with, but the manner is with he flaunts it at the department. It would be the same if Grinnell was the Sheriff, only difference is that it would be more of the females in the department. He has caused great damage to his reputation and will not be able to fix it. The department is split down the middle and has been for many years. I for one quite reading her articles when she come up with the one year birthday lamb cake story; many think she was just trying to prove she was born a little girl who knows? As too loving Borders, she feeds his dog, hires his “financial directors” and runs interference for his crimes and life of madness and sickness. I didn’t read her recent article which apparently had some dumb reference to “Thomas Jefferson and his cronies.” It’s been known for a long time she is nothing more than a communist sympathizer, that’s why she is so heqq bent on destroying the American culture.
Apparently as most communist do, like Michelle Obama she sees everything wrong with our country from the founding fathers right up to today but, she sees nothing wrong with the likes of her friend “the sheriff” and his cronies destroying the culture of Lake County’s Sheriff Office while at the same time stealing from the sheriff’s budget. She must have known about the $900 thousand and other missing monies when she went out and recruited Tom Klinker to take the place of Lewie Wise. Tom Klinker even sent Gary Borders an email after bring on the job only one month and told Borders if he continued the current monthly rate of salary compensation the sheriff’s budget would be “one million” dollars short by the end of this fiscal year on September 30, 2012
So what will Borders do about this? The same thing he did last year; he will rob Peter to pay Paul – problem is Peter is getting sore about all this!

We know exactly who loves the sheriff and why and who does not and why as well. And this time so does a great majority of the people of Lake County. Contrary to what some members of the LCSO have apparently decided the office of sheriff was not created by the legislature as a tax payer funded playhouse with millions of our tax dollars going for vehicles, phones and other toys as well as wasted gasoline on personal trips not only all over Lake County but out of county personal use of our taxpayers property as well. Not to mention the raises and other benefits provided to those special ones who really love the sheriff or at least use too. If in fact the people had STUCK TO FACTS AND QUALIFICATIONS in the 2008 election Gary Borders would have come in dead last. He had absolutely no law enforcement experience when he was appointed sheriff. Everyone knew then about his alternative lifestyle, no one cared. He had a high school diploma from Ashland, Kentucky period. He was a jailer with a high school diploma! He claimed to be working on a Vincennes two year degree at the time. Gary Borders was in fact the least qualified candidate to run for sheriff in 2008. Really nothing has changed since then except jail professor Scott Kirkland has got Borders the two year degree from Vincennes and a four year degree from Columbia. Kirkland was rewarded with a real deputy job! Along with that Borders has thrown every other accomplishment his predecessors have made into his BIO. The LCSO is split into at least three factions. We have the little girlie acting boys running around “loving” the sheriff. We have the Chief Grinnell “raiders” running around trying to intimidate and harass the business people into supporting this Gestapo and thank God we have a few good people who stay on if for no other reason they believe the people of Lake County might really deserve some good honest representation in the law enforcement of the sheriff’s office.
As for your remarks concerning Sandy Carpenter, I for one do not recall any infighting among the candidates in 2004. Perhaps the closest was when Chuck Johnson lost in the primary he had a little pouting spell and turned against the two republicans in the run off and supported the democrat instead of either one of them. Just a little Chuck Johnson temper tantrum. Sandy Carpenter is a third generation Lake Countian and has ever right to run for public office. As long as he abides by the laws (something you little wimps are not familiar with) he can work that out with his boss, it’s none of your business.
Again, Tom Mysinger is a retired LCSO employee and as you say a long time Lake County resident. What he does and who he supports for sheriff or any other office for that matter is none of your business.

It appears you are trying to confuse facts with fiction which is one of your best traits since you live in a land of fiction. Here are the facts. The sheriff you love lives a gay lifestyle and carries a lot of baggage from that lifestyle alone. Past lovers no matter how hard he has tried tend to feel shunned and some are in fact jealous with “your” present relationship. The ghosts of the Green Isle Boys Ranch has been around for well over two years now and has nothing to do with politics. It will never disappear until it is resolved. The good, honest, moral, real church going people (not the ones that are there so everyone can see them) will continue to pursue all avenues until the victims of the Green Isle can have their redress.

What gives Borders the right to decide what crimes he wants to investigate and push forward and which ones he wants to hide and cover up anyway? Does this mean if he has a friend who commits bank robbery or murder he will just cover this up like he did these rapes and apparently a lot more at his boy’s ranch over the years.

These Green Isle Boys Ranch stories have been out and around for two years now. We never saw the real proof of Borders involvement. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this one sure is. Also now we know the Lake County Children’s Services Council was involved in this whitewashed so call investigation. Wonder just who else? Ralph Smith is a member of the Children’s Services Council. Interestingly he even gave Bob McKee for a reference to get on the board.
Yes it is very apparent now that Gary Borders has had a long history doing something at the Green Isle Boys Ranch for over 20 years. It’s also very apparent he has had a penchant for involvement in young boy’s activities going back over 30 years! The question here is if a man is really that interested in doing good for young boys how then can he turn his head on these young victims of brutal rapes not only as a member of the board where these rapes occurred but also as the chief law enforcement of Lake County as well.
Sorry, but this has absolutely nothing to do with politics as much as everyone would like to say it does. While Sheriff Borders might not be the only official involved in suppressing these crimes he is obviously the first in line in the obstruction of justice for these little victims.
Based on the evidence included in these documents the Governor should immediately suspend Sheriff Borders and demand an honest investigation into these long standing allegations just like he demanded the FDLE honestly investigate the hazing death of Mr. Champion at FMAU.
Is there anyone out there dumb enough to want a sheriff with such a gross lack of morals that he can cover up something as brutal as this to continue to be your sheriff for another eleven months? Not our church group! And we certainly intend to pass this on to everyone who will listen until we get the governor to do something about this. In this case it’s the people of Lake County who has had all this hidden from them and been lied to about what little they have heard. i just read the depuites’ report on the green isle rapes. the rage i feel right now towards sheriff gar s. borders is beyond comprehension. we have know for years of his lifestyle, but we always believed it to be with consenting male adults. although we still dont agree with that behavior, its not illegal. but this! all our county leaders are aware of this and they stand by sheriff borders, why? its got to be they share the same cache of money and power and are afraid that if he goes, they go. almost all the county leaders have children, what if it was their child that was the rape victim? borders does not have any children of his own, he has no idea the rage that comes from someone hurting your child. remember the apopka baseball coaching staff that got fired because they did not report an unethical relationship between a staff member and a student. they knew about it but chose not to report! they are just as unethical as the staff member. same goes for our county leaders. from county commissioners all the way to the other police chiefs around this county who beg for borders’ attention (leesburg, clermont). not much we can do about the rest of the country and its moral decline, but right here in our little part of the world, its gonna stop. sheriff borders, you are not a good man regardless of how well people speak of you. these people are uniformed, just like obama’s supporters. they are the dumbest among us. go home to kentucky and let us go back to the conservative moral proud county we used to be before you got here as sheriff. good luck mr. carpenter.
This Green Isle Story thing is amazing. What is most amazing to me is how they covered it up. The parents of all children and all others who truly care about children and don’t just lie and use them for their monetary and other values should be taking this sheriff apart piece by piece to see what makes him tick.
My brother in law had heard about this some time ago and told me his friends at the Liberty Baptist Church said even some members of the Lake County Children’s Services Council like Ralph Smith had been aware of these crimes being covered up by the sheriff from the very beginning. He said the Children’s Services Council was involved from the get go! Just wondering how these people can claim to be Christians on one hand and be a part of helping their friends cover up the brutal sex abuses of little boys on the other. Not really trying to judge them but just thinking how easy these people sold their souls for dollars! I don’t think real decent Christian people could sleep knowing they turned their heads for their friends to cover up stuff like this. And yes it does remind people of what happened at Penn State. Our sick society is already working and spinning daily to make a hero out of Sandusky just by their court ruling yesterday! They won’t do anything about the Green Isle either because to many of them have been involved with the kids. They will just circle the wagons and protect their own sick friends just like the always do.
I for one don’t what what to say about the information for the public. On one hand I question how this can possibly be but then again as a previous blogger so well stated concerning the evil at the sheriff’s office it’s not that far fetched to believe something was going on for over twenty years right under everyone’s noses and no one even suspected. After following the timeline you can see that while sheriff Borders detectives stopped the investigation dead in it’s tracks in mid December they had to have had accomplises in DCF and other agencies who should have been screaming to high heaven in support of these victims being given proper justice under the law as well as any emotional or other help they should have received.
I’m sorry but I feel really sick this morning to know that the person who stopped these boys from getting the help they were entitled too is our sheriff. I feel even worse when I realize from the pictures that the perpetrator-suspect who committed the heinious crimes is the same boy standing right next to sheriff Borders with a big grin on his face apparently at the same time period he was committing these crimes. I can’t help but think that Borders knew this Tyler boy personally and maybe that is why he tried so hard to cover up his crimes. Thanks!

Glad they can’t scare Carpenter! Somebody better warn him that if it looks like he’s ging to win McKee will make a phone call and change that.
That is the best news I have heard for years! He has still got to realize Bob McKee and Welton Cadwell has ways of gixing these elections and they will do it again! He had better follow every absentee ballot that is requested and returned and have guards on the computer room all the time they are allowing the early voting as well as the real election day. The early voting is nothing more than a scam to allow them time to watch the votes. Ms. Stegall is as honest as they come. Borders and McKee has got two people running against her this time. The problem in her office is her assistant Jerry Foster. Insiders say he has one of them Border lifestyles too and they can and have used him for favors. Funny how people who have worked here a the SO for years have no idea want is really going on around here. How can we expect the public to understand all this conspiracy and corruption. I guess that’s why these criminals started that “conspiracy theorist” label to deflect information revealed from those who really know the truth!
sandy carpenter does know what he is up against. in fact that is one of the reasons he is running. he is a lake county resident and has as much at stake as the rest of us. he is just the man to withstand the onslaught of retaliation that will be coming his way. borders/grinnell are an evil duo. they owe so many people favors and have so many things to hide they are willing to trample on anyone to keep their power. you see, power gives them the ability to spin stories their way. power gives them first access to lauren ritchie, bob mckee, welton cadwell, michael tart. the list is long, these people benefit from the devilish duo therefore they also will do whatever it takes to keep them in power. borders/grinnell remind me of obama/biden. they have zero interest in whats best for the citizens, they only want whats best for their own group. everyone knows sheriff borders is a rino, republican in name only. his personal life and the way he spends the taxpayers money shows his liberal identity. so so so many deputies are ditching borders every day. everyone you meet is aware of borders/grinnell and how evil they are. grinnell should have stayed lt., thats when people respected him. he sold his soul to move up the ladder. guess some people are better than others at hiding their true identity. good example is michael tart, you will find him in church every sunday, but he lobbies hard for sheriff borders and grinnell knowing what an evil empire they have created. tart doesnt want grinnell gone, then he would lose his “special” laser funding 60,000 thousand dollars a year to hand out fresh water and used clothes. why does one citizen get 60,000 dollars to do that?. i bet volunteers would do it for free. thats where the power comes in as i was talking about. grinnell goes to borders, borders goes to cadwell, cadwell bullies the rest of the commission to allow one citizen to get 60,000 dollars for their “non-profit” org. 60,000 dollars is not non-profit, that is his salary for running laser. can i receive 60,000 dollars a year to go around raking yards for charity, what a scam. this whole lcso command staff is a scam. its fixing to change.better shave as much money off the top as you can nowborders/grinnell. the no-nonsense sheriff is coming to town. you cant scare carpenter away like you do anyone else that jeopardizes your money pit.
Does anybody know if this Sandy Carpenter guy that says he’s running for Sheriff of Lake County against Borders knows what he’s going up against? We kinow he’s got the big man SHAQ in his corner but Shaq is a good dude and he might not suspect the real dept of the structure of Lake County that he’s up against. They will either fix this election or wage a war on the wrong winner. One way or another “they” are going to control every office in Lake County.
Because “they” know if the day ever comes that “they” don’t control it a lot of people are going “straight to jail!”
Why does this resemble Borders nightmare hell hole of the use to be sheriff’s office so much? The trouble of it is Borders “staff” you know brass; (not the one you hear so much about) is going around telling everyone not to worry about their jobs that the elections is going to be fixed for Borders. Who knows maybe they are right, last Saturday night FDLE Agent Mike Giddens was running around the Umatilla Park sporting a Re-Elect Borders Tee Shirt! He told everyone Sheriff Captain Todd Luce made him wear it! What kind of law man is this anyway if anyone can ‘make” him do something? Answer is just a part of the clan that’s all. Word is on the street is Lt. Wherry hasn’t learned any lessons with his past behavior. Verbal assaults, treating employees and it goes on and on. We have also heard through the grapevine that Eddy is on his knees begging to keep his job. Could it be Vern has got his way? Everyone that has any brains is gone and now the brainless puppet is next. Rumors are the elite group of liars are starting to turn on each other. It’s amazing what three or four or more federal lawsuits will do. And to the lady laker, if you think the so called town commission or town manager/town clerk/human resource person/town clown will do anything guess again, Kollgaard is at the top of the list of corrupt and on the top of the list for persons to blame for the down fall of Lady Lake. Just remember what you get when you give an eighty year old man control of training, you get what you pay for and that is what he can remember before his sundowners syndrome kicks in at dark, NOTHING.
Now Vern is personally driving to everyones house to make them come to work because they won’t answer their phones or he is getting people to use their personal phones to call fellow officers and demanding they come to work, sounds like people have lost their will to be around Vern and he followers. Will the clock is ticking and getting louder for Vern to hear. Big things on the way for the old regime at Lady Lake PD. Depositions because a federal lawsuit was filed by ex-employees (seems to be a LOT of ex LLPD employees – another officer, still only four dispatchers, and no real relief in sight) with the management hiding due the likely results of the lawsuits. When will City Management ever figure out that people leave for a reason? It’s not the pool of applicants or the test – it’s the oppressive and dictatorial environment. Why would any real professional police employee put up with degrading and challenging remarks and so-called “training” practices that are based in the 1970′s?
Of course, some people are making a lot of overtime to cover for personnel shortages – gee, does it make sense to keep lining your pockets by making sure people won’t stay??? Hmmm…
